FOCUS ON OUR FIRM Whitlock, Selim & Keehn, LLP (WSK) has been offering clients accounting and tax services for more than 90 years. Its predecessor firm merged with Fox & Company in 1971, providing it with the resources of a national accounting firm for specialized areas of expertise. In 1985, R. Barnes Whitlock and Elmer C. Selim, partners in the Springfield, Missouri office of Fox & Company, and David A. Keehn, a manager in the Springfield office, acquired the practice from Fox & Company and named it Whitlock, Selim & Keehn. From there, the firm has grown to become one of the most respected CPA firms in Southwest Missouri. In 2003, the firm was one of three nominees for a Springfield Business Journal Economic Impact Award in the area of public accounting. In 1987, the firm joined the Private Companies Practice Section of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which was the first to require a peer review every three years. Peer judgment from the AICPA is the biggest test for professional services firms. The AICPA proclaims WSK's standards for accounting and auditing practices among the highest in the industry. In January 2007, the firm added a partner and other staff by joining with another local CPA firm. See the Announcements page on our site for more information. WSK now has approximately 33 employees with six partners. It serves clients with sales up to $600 million in the finanical and banking, manufacturing, service, retail, real estate, and construction industries.
