Whitlock, Selim & Keehn, LLP (WSK) considers its clients business partners. As such, our clients have access to the expertise of our entire firm and its PKF North American Network resources. Our partners and managers have an average of 18 years of experience each, and it is our firm policy that all professional staff complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education annually in areas relevant to their practice specialities.

WSK believes the most important characteristics of its service are its staff's availability and responsiveness to clients and its ability to provide practical and effective solutions to their needs. W. David Myers, CPA
Managing Partner

David Myers has more than 17 years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis in taxation. He is currently managing partner of the firm. He spent two years as a State Auditor of Missouri before joining Whitlock, Selim & Keehn, LLP 17 years ago.

David has significant experience in business advisory services, such as ESOP accounting and tax issues, cash management and tax planning, for large and medium-sized closely held businesses. He has also worked extensively with individuals on tax and estate planning issues.

 He leads tax services for clients in a variety of industries including transportation, wholesale and retail distribution, manufacturing, service businesses, electric cooperatives, financial institutions, not-for-profit organizations, and automobile dealerships.

David earned his bachelor's of science degree in accountancy from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He is also holder of an American Institute of CPA's Tax Educational Achievement Certificate.

As a member of the ESOP Association, he has routinely taken advantage of specialized training on ESOP topics a the national level. David speaks frequently on tax planning and is a contributor to local publications on tax planning and accounting topics. In 2000, he was chosen as one of the Springfield Business Journal's "40 under 40," which is 40 of the area's up and coming business and community leaders under the age of 40.

David keeps busy with professional and civic activities as a member of the Southwest Chapter of the Missouri Society of CPAs (was the former president), Missouri Society of CPAs (was a former Board of Directors member and current Educational Foundation Board member), Leadership Springfield Class VII Alumni, and Greater Ozarks Chapter of University of Missouri Alumni Association (current Board member).

 

Thomas F. Beisner, CPA, CVA
Partner

Tom Beisner has more than 17 years of experience in public accounting with emphasis in performing accounting and auditing services for financial institutions. Prior to joining WSK, Tom was with GRA Thompson White & Company, a bank consulting and accounting firm in Kansas City.

A partner with WSK since 1999, Tom leads the firm's financial institutions industry practice, offering services to Missouri's community banks ranging from tax returns and audits to information technology examinations, BSA audits and internal audit.

Tom is a member of the PKF North American Network's Financial Institutions Committee, the Missouri Bankers Association Associate Member Committee, the Institute of Internal Auditors, the Arkansas Bankers Association, the Kansas Bankers Association, and the Missouri Independent Bankers Association.

In 1998, Tom completed the extensive training and testing required to earn his Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. With this training, he provides litigation support services, including business valuations.

In addition to his banking industry activities, Tom is a member of other professional and civic organizations, including the Missouri Society of CPAs (MSCPA), American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, Leadership Springfield (former Board member), Springfield Landmarks Preservation Trust, Inc. (Advisory Board member and former member of Board of Directors) and Webster University (Advisory Board of Directors).

He is a contributor to local publications on business valuations and accounting topics and has provided presentations for several Springfield banks' commercial lending departments and various civic organizations. In 2001, he was chosen as one of the Springfield Business Journal's "40 under 40," which is 40 of the area's up and coming business and community leaders under the age of 40.

Brenda R. Logsdon, CPA

Brenda Logsdon has more than 32 years of experience in public accounting with a specialization in taxation. She has significant experience in tax strategy planning regarding mergers and acquisitions.

She serves as practice partner-in-charge of taxation for clients in a variety of industries including not-for-profit organizations, financial institutions, wholesale and retail distribution, manufacturing, medical practices, and real estate development companies. She also provides general business tax planning for corporations and owners, employee benefits tax consulting, and estate planning.

Brenda's academic background includes a master of science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University and a bachelor of science degree in business administration with an accounting specialization from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.

Brenda has made presentations for such organizations as the Institute of Management Accountants, American Society of Women Accountants and Ozarks Public Television. She is a contributor to the local business journal and newspaper.

Her professional and civic activities include membership in the Missouri Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, American Society of Women Accountants (past president), Junior League of Springfield, Missouri, Inc., Greene County Estate Planning Council, Leadership Springfield, Downtown Rotary and Springfield Little Theatre (Board member).

Joseph D. Page, CPA, CFE, CVA
Partner

Joe Page has been with WSK for more than 12 years. He is the firm's partner in charge of audit practice, and he manages audit services for clients in a variety of industries, including not-for-profit, manufacturing and distribution, electric utilities, construction, and colleges and universities. His more than 15 years of experience in public accounting has an emphasis in auditing and accounting, fraud examination, business valuations, and information systems consulting.

He underwent training in the many legal ramifications of conducting a fraud examination such as the rules of evidence, rights of the accused and accuser, and expert witness matters to gain his Certified Fraud Examiner designation in 1999. In 2001, he earned his Certified Valuation Analyst designation.

Joe's academic background includes a bachelor's in business administration degree from Wichita State University in December 1989. In 2002, he was chosen as one of the Springfield Business Journal's "40 Under 40," which is 40 of the area's up and coming business and community leaders under the age of 40.

He keeps active in his profession and the community as a member of the Missouri Society of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Joe serves as the treasurer for the Urban Districts Alliance in Springfield, treasurer for the Springfield Southeast Rotary Club, past chairman of the Membership Development Committee of the Boy Scouts, is a Leadership Springfield alumni and member of its Placement Committee, and was formerly the treasurer for Springfield Jaycees.

Patricia S. Stoner, CPA
Partner

 
Patti Stoner joined WSK as a partner in January 2007 after running her own CPA practice in Springfield since 1986. Her focus with WSK continues to be what it was in her own practice. She works with entrepreneurs from many different industries to help them grow their businesses, set up and maintain their accounting systems, and provide tax planning and preparation.
Patti is a Certified Pro Advisor for QuickBooks software, and helps clients with software installation, set-up, consulting and training.
She received her bachelor of science degree in accounting from Missouri State University in 1982, and worked for a small CPA firm while earning her degree. After six years, that firm merged with a large local CPA firm. Patti worked in the accounting services area and was later promoted into the tax department. She started her own CPA firm in 1986. 
                                                  
 Brad Baker, CPA

Brad Baker joined WSK in 2008 with nearly 25 years of public accounting and private business experience. After 17 years working in Honolulu, Hawaii, Brad returned to Webb City in 2002 and continued his accounting work.
 
Brad’s academic background includes a bachelor’s of administration degree from the University of Hawaii, Manoa, and a master’s of business administration degree from Chaminade University of Hawaii. 
 
 
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA). He has served as an officer of the Webb City Chamber of Commerce and remains active in the Webb City Chamber. He is also a cabinet member of the United Way of SW Missouri and board member of Lafayette House and Cerebral Palsy of the Tri-County.
 
 

R. Barnes Whitlock, CPA
Partner

Barney Whitlock has more than 40 years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis on family business planning and estate and tax planning. He is one of the firm's founding partners and served as managing partner in the 1980s.

He does financial planning for his clients, and he is in charge of tax services for firm clients in a variety of industries including retail distribution, public warehousing, financial institutions, manufacturing, cable television, real estate, and medical practices.

Barney's academic background includes a bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia.

His professional and civic activities include membership in the American Institute of CPAs, Missouri Society of CPAs (past president of the Southwest Chapter), Missouri Sports Hall of Fame (secretary and Board of Directors), University of Missouri Alumni Association (National Governing Board of Directors, chair of the Legislative Information Network Committee, Board member of the Flagship Council, and past president of the local chapter), Hickory Hills Country Club (past president of Board of Directors). He is also a past board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, United Way, YMCA, Smith-Glynn-Callaway Medical Foundation, and founding board member of the Community Foundation.
